Prof Abiodun Gbolagade Celebrates Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdul-ganiy Agbotomokekere at 90

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and Oluyole Federal Constituency hopeful, Prof. Abiodun Gbolagade, has joined other well-meaning Nigerians in celebrating the 90th birthday of Sheikh Abubakri Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland and Grand Imam of Oyo State.

In a goodwill message release, Prof. Gbolagade described Sheikh Agbotomokekere, who also serves as the Grand Patron of the League of Imams and Alfas of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta State, as a revered spiritual leader whose life has been devoted to service, knowledge, and moral guidance.


He praised the cleric’s unrelenting commitment to the spiritual upliftment and peaceful coexistence of the people of Ibadanland and beyond, noting that his leadership over the decades has been marked by wisdom, humility, and unwavering dedication to faith and community.

“Attaining the age of 90 is no small feat, and for someone who has spent the better part of a century in the service of God and humanity, it is a moment worthy of reflection and gratitude,” Prof. Gbolagade said.

“Baba Sheikh Agbotomokekere stands as a symbol of enduring moral authority, respected not only in Ibadanland but across Yorubaland and Nigeria at large. His leadership has fostered harmony, inspired generations, and upheld the values of truth, patience, and compassion.”

While celebrating the cleric’s impactful life at 90, Prof. Gbolagade prayed that Almighty Allah continue to preserve his life in good health and grant him more strength, wisdom, and barakah in the years ahead.
