Oyo State Supervisory Councillors Forum Mourns the Passing of Hon Sanda Taiwo

The Oyo State Supervisory Councillors Forum has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of one of its members, Hon. Sanda Taiwo, who served as the Supervisor for Culture and Community Service in Oyo West Local Government.

Hon. Sanda Taiwo died on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, after a brief illness. His death has been described as a painful loss not only to the Forum but to the entire grassroots governance structure in Oyo State.


In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Alarape Kabiru Imam, the Forum described the late Hon. Taiwo as a committed and diligent public servant who carried out his duties with passion and integrity.

“We are devastated by the news of Hon. Sanda Taiwo’s passing. He was a vibrant and responsible member of the Forum who was fully dedicated to the development of his local government and the advancement of culture and community service in Oyo West,” the statement read.

“Our hearts go out to his family, the people of Oyo West, and all who had the privilege of working with him. We pray for God’s comfort and strength for his loved ones during this difficult time.”

The Forum also called on all its members to remember the late Supervisor’s legacy of service and uphold the values he lived for, even as he is being laid to rest.
