Children’s Day: Arisekola Alao Celebrates Children, Calls for Comprehensive Protection Policy and Investment in Future

Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao, Ibadan North Federal Constituency Hopeful, has joined well-meaning Nigerians in commemorating the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, calling for renewed national commitment towards the protection, education, and empowerment of Nigerian children.

In a message released to the media, the former Commissioner for Youth and Sports emphasized the critical role children play in shaping the future of any nation, noting that safeguarding their rights and investing in their development must remain a top priority for policymakers at all levels.

“Our children are the heartbeat of tomorrow. Today’s celebration is not only to honour them but to renew our collective resolve to provide them with the tools, values, and opportunities needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.”

He urged governments and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive child protection policy that guarantees access to quality education, healthcare, security, and a nurturing environment for every Nigerian child, regardless of background.

He further called for strategic investments in youth development programs, early childhood education, and social welfare systems that promote inclusivity and long-term national growth.

“As we celebrate Children’s Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to building a society where no child is left behind, where every child can dream, grow, and contribute meaningfully to our nation’s progress.”
