Oyo State Supervisory Councillors Forum Supports Late Hon Taiwo’s Family with ₦1 Million Donation

The Oyo State Supervisory Councillors Forum, in a show of solidarity and compassion, has donated the sum of One Million Naira (₦1,000,000) to the widow of the late Hon. Sanda Taiwo, who until his passing served as the Supervisor for Culture and Community Service in Oyo West Local Government.
The gesture, according to the Forum, was made to support the bereaved family and honour the legacy of their late colleague, who passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, after a brief illness.

Speaking on behalf of the Forum, the Chairman, Hon. Alarape Kabiru Imam, described the donation as a small token of appreciation for the dedicated service Hon. Taiwo rendered during his time in office.
“Hon. Sanda Taiwo was more than a colleague, he was a brother and a dependable grassroots leader. We cannot take away the pain of his departure, but we can stand by the family he left behind.”
He noted that the donation was raised through the collective efforts of Forum members across the state, demonstrating the unity and shared values that bind the Forum together.
“We hope this gesture, though modest, will provide some measure of relief and show our unyielding support to his widow and children in this trying period,” he added.
The presentation of the donation was made during a condolence visit to the family at their residence in Oyo West, where prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of the deceased and strength for the bereaved.
The late Hon. Sanda Taiwo was widely regarded as a humble, dutiful, and community-focused leader whose contributions to local governance and cultural development in Oyo West left a lasting impression. His passing was earlier described by the Forum as a painful loss to grassroots governance in Oyo State.
