The Oyo State Supervisory Councillors Forum has extended warm congratulations to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on the occasion of his sixth year in office, commending his administration’s unwavering commitment to inclusive, impactful, and people-oriented governance.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Alarape Kabiru Imam, the body of supervisory councillors praised the Governor’s leadership for transforming the state across all critical sectors while ensuring that development reaches the grassroots where it is most needed.

According to the Forum, Governor Makinde’s administration has demonstrated a rare sense of purpose and responsibility in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Oyo State, with particular emphasis on infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, economic empowerment, and local government development.

“Today, as we mark six years of purposeful leadership in Oyo State, we salute His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his unwavering focus on building a government that works for everyone. His vision has not only shaped the progress of our urban centres but has equally ensured that the grassroots feel the pulse of good governance.”

The Forum noted that under the governor’s watch, the empowerment of local governments has been unprecedented. Through timely funding, strategic capacity development programs, and inclusive policymaking, the administration has strengthened the roles of supervisory councillors and other grassroots officials to serve more effectively.

“As representatives at the grassroots, we are witnesses to the direct impact of His Excellency’s inclusive leadership. The people in our communities have benefitted from improved service delivery, infrastructure projects, and access to quality healthcare and education. These are not just promises kept, but lives changed.”
