Amid rising political tension in Oyo State, concerned stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akinyele Local Government have openly questioned the loyalty and commitment of Hon. Lafioye Akinmoyede, the current member representing Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency. The renewed concerns, spurred by recent revelations and widespread rumours of his alleged anti-party activities, have triggered a wave of discontent and suspicion among party faithful, who now view his conduct as a calculated attempt to undermine the strength of APC in both Lagelu and Akinyele.

In a statement signed by Mr Abdul Fatai Qozeem (Ward 3), Mrs Akanbi Risikat (Ward 10), Mr Amao Aribidesi (Ward 1), and Alhaji O. A. Akanmu (Ward 4), notable party leaders within Akinyele Local Government raised pressing questions and observations that challenge the true political allegiance of the federal lawmaker:

For some days now, the media have been flooded with news on the political diabolical of Hon. Lafioye Akinmoyede, presently representing Lagelu/Akinyele at the Federal House of Representatives in Abuja. These write-ups have stirred up some pertinent questions from our minds at Akinyele local government APC.

The first question is, why are you always in attendance at our local government meetings at Akinyele local government while you prevent APC meetings from holding in Lagelu local government?

Again, Sir, why were you absent at our General Meeting held on the 9th of July, 2025?

This is very much unlike you. Or is it the beginning of your diabolical scheming of wrecking APC in Akinyele as done in Lagelu Local Government? Sir, how can you explain the rumour milling round in both Akinyele and Lagelu Local Governments that your devilish objective is to weaken our party in the two local governments, after which you jettison our party for either ADC or PDP, as being strongly rumoured? Sir, you will be insulting our collective intelligence if you think we are not aware of your double standards politically. “Awodi Oke, ko mo wipe ara ile n wo ohun.” Your anti-party activities are noted by us. You attend both political and social meetings in Akinyele local government. Of note was your conspicuous attendance at the burial rites of the late PDP Chairman in Akinyele local government, where you displayed affluence or opulence. We can mention other instances of your romance with opposing political parties. The point is, who are you deceiving? Your antics and dirty political scheming are no longer hidden, and we assure you that, as God lives, you will see your political results on that through supremacy of our great party and the power of electorate.

We people in Lagelu and Akinyele federal constituencies have been fooled and hypnotised for long, but we are now awake, and when the time comes, we shall sieve the shafts from the grains. Enough is enough.
