Aspirant for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda on his emergence as the new National Chairman of the APC.
The announcement followed the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party held in Abuja on Thursday, where Prof. Yilwatda, the current Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and a respected academic, was unanimously nominated to succeed Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who stepped down citing health concerns.

In a congratulatory message, the former Commissioner for Youth and Sport in Oyo State, described Prof. Yilwatda’s appointment as a significant step in furthering the ideals of internal democracy, national progress, and grassroots inclusiveness that the APC stands for.
“Professor Nentawe Yilwatda’s wealth of experience in both academia and public service speaks volumes of his capacity to steer the affairs of our great party at this crucial time. His tenure as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs has shown his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and I am confident that he will bring the same energy and vision to his new role as our party’s national leader.”

He also praised the peaceful transition within the party’s leadership and commended the outgoing Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, for his contributions and commitment to the party during his time in office.
“As we consolidate on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the emergence of a capable and principled leader like Prof. Yilwatda is a welcome development that will help deepen internal cohesion and public trust in our party.”
