A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao, has congratulated Hon. Olawale Murphy on his emergence as the APC standard bearer for the forthcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election scheduled for August 16, 2025.

In a statement made available to the press on Friday, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao urged party members across the constituency to close ranks and rally behind the party’s flagbearer.

“Though I was one of the aspirants in the race, I remain a loyal party man committed to the unity and progress of the All Progressives Congress. The interest of our great party must always come before individual ambition.”

Hon. Arisekola Alao emphasized the importance of collective commitment, maturity, and political discipline at such a time, especially in ensuring that the APC retains its stronghold in Ibadan North.

“I congratulate Hon. Olawale Murphy on his emergence as the APC candidate. I call on all members, leaders, and stakeholders within Ibadan North and beyond to unite and work diligently to deliver victory for our party. What binds us is far greater than any temporary setback. We must stand together.”

Reflecting on his own journey, Hon. Arisekola Alao acknowledged the sacrifices made in politics and noted that he remains devoted to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress(APC) as a party and the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He further assured his supporters and constituents that his commitment to the growth and development of Ibadan North Federal Constituency remains unwavering, adding that he will continue to lend his voice, experience, and resources to causes that uplift the people.

“Let us approach this election with renewed zeal and purpose. The APC must retain Ibadan North for the sake of continuity, development, and representation that aligns with our shared values. I remain available and committed to that goal.”
