Studios, Newsroom, Equipment Lost as Fresh FM Confirms Fire Outbreak

The head office of Fresh FM Nigeria, located at Challenge, Ibadan, was on Friday evening, August 15, 2025, engulfed by a fire outbreak that left extensive damage to the station’s facilities.

In a statement signed by Mr. Samson Akindele, Group Head of Corporate Affairs for Fresh FM Nigeria and Yinka Ayefele Limited, the management confirmed that the incident severely affected the studios of Fresh 105.9 FM and Blast 98.3 FM, alongside key adjoining offices.

According to the statement, the newsroom, transmitter/server room, and several broadcasting equipment were destroyed while the station was in active operation.
“All efforts to fight the fire, before the arrival of professional firefighters, using our in-house extinguishers proved abortive because of the strength of the inferno,” the release read.

While the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, the management disclosed that the extent of the damage could not be immediately quantified.
Fresh FM expressed deep appreciation to residents of the area, passersby, and officials of the Oyo State Fire Service who swiftly joined efforts to put out the fire.
“We heartily appreciate everyone, from residents around our studio complex who were the first responders, to good-spirited Nigerians who assisted, and the officials of the Oyo Fire Service who worked tirelessly during the emergency,” Mr. Akindele stated.
