Akin Alabi Reaffirms Commitment to Quality and Timely Delivery on Federal Projects

The Member representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Works, Hon. Akin Alabi, has restated his resolve to ensure that all federal infrastructure projects across the country are delivered with quality and within schedule.

Hon. Alabi gave the assurance on Wednesday during an oversight inspection tour of major federal projects, alongside members of the Works Committee. The exercise was aimed at assessing progress and compliance with approved standards.

The inspection began along the Coastal Road at Chainage 14, where the lawmakers examined the recently completed Shoreline Protection Works designed to check coastal erosion and protect vulnerable communities.

“As part of our oversight duties, we are committed to ensuring that every project undertaken by the Federal Ministry of Works delivers value to Nigerians. Quality and timely completion remain non-negotiable.”

The committee also visited the Marina Shoreline, where reconstruction efforts are ongoing. Hon. Alabi commended the contractors for their professionalism and adherence to timelines, noting that the project, once completed, would strengthen the structural integrity and improve the aesthetic appeal of the Marina corridor.

The tour concluded at the Sagamu axis of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State. Hon. Alabi, speaking through his aide, applauded the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, for his dedication and supervision of critical national projects.

“I am impressed with the quality and pace of work on this section of the expressway. Kudos to the Minister and his team for their commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure.”

The House Committee on Works reaffirmed its readiness to continue close monitoring and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that all federal projects meet international standards and are delivered within stipulated timeframes.
