Defection Wave in Oluyole Federal Constituency: Hon Gbolagade Receives PDP Members Into APC

Hon Abiodun Gbolagade, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oluyole and a 2027 aspirant for the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat, facilitated and welcomed the defection of aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party from Ward One to Ward Ten into the APC. The decampees were formally received yesterday at the APC general meeting held at Olomi Community Primary School.

The development, which is a strong indication of the party’s rising acceptability in Oluyole, as well as the growing visibility and influence of Hon Gbolagade within the political landscape, reaffirmed APC’s position as the preferred political platform for many residents seeking genuine leadership and inclusiveness.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, the group leader, Alhaji Olatinwo said their decision was driven by a desire to join a party that values progress and carries the hopes of ordinary people.

“We have come to the APC because we see sincerity of purpose, openness, and a structure that welcomes everyone. We believe this is the right place for us to contribute meaningfully to the growth of Oluyole,” he said.

In their remarks, the Party Chairman and Hon Abiodun Gbolagade welcomed the new members and assured them of fair integration into the party.

“Our doors remain open to all who believe in collective progress. I am glad to receive you into our fold. Together, we will build a stronger and more united APC in Oluyole. Your decision to join us is an affirmation of the trust you have in this party and in the direction we are taking.”

APC leaders and other political stakeholders present at the meeting commended Hon Gbolagade for his constant efforts in strengthening the party’s grassroots mobilisation. They noted that his presence across communities, coupled with his engagement with different political blocs, has made him a unifying force and an influential figure ahead of the 2027 elections.
