Defection Wave in Oluyole Federal Constituency: Hon Gbolagade Receives PDP Members Into APC

Hon Abiodun Gbolagade, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oluyole and a 2027 aspirant for the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat, facilitated and welcomed the defection of aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party from Ward One to Ward Ten into the APC. The decampees were formally received yesterday at the APC general meeting held at Olomi Community Primary School.

Among those who joined the APC was a notable political figure, Adeniyi Adeyemi popularly known as Adedibu from Ward 3, whose defection further signaled a shift in the political alignment within Oluyole.

The development, a strong indication of the party’s rising acceptability, also reflected the growing visibility and influence of Hon Gbolagade in the political landscape, reaffirming the APC’s position as the preferred platform for residents seeking inclusive and purposeful leadership.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, the group leader, Alhaji Olatinwo, said their decision was driven by a desire to join a party that values progress and carries the hopes of ordinary people.

“We have come to the APC because we see sincerity of purpose, openness, and a structure that welcomes everyone. We believe this is the right place for us to contribute meaningfully to the growth of Oluyole,” he said.

In their remarks, the Party Chairman and Hon Abiodun Gbolagade welcomed the new members and assured them of fair integration into the party.

“Our doors remain open to all who believe in collective progress. I am glad to receive you into our fold. Together, we will build a stronger and more united APC in Oluyole. Your decision to join us is an affirmation of the trust you have in this party and in the direction we are taking.”

APC leaders and other political stakeholders present at the meeting commended Hon Gbolagade for his steady efforts in strengthening grassroots mobilisation. They noted that his engagements across communities and his relationship with key political blocs have made him a unifying figure and an influential force as the 2027 elections draw closer.
