Barr Akeem Agbaje Calls for Spiritual Reflection as Ramadan and Lent Begin
Barr Akeem Adedeji Agbaje, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and 2027 gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, has urged residents of the state and Nigerians nationwide to embrace a period of deep spiritual reflection and sincere intercession as Muslims commence the holy month of Ramadan and Christians begin the Lenten season today, February 18, 2026.

In a message released to mark the simultaneous observance of the two sacred seasons, Agbaje described the moment as spiritually significant and unifying, noting that both periods call for devotion, sacrifice, discipline, and compassion.

He encouraged citizens to take advantage of the season to seek divine guidance for personal growth and national renewal, while also extending kindness and support to the vulnerable in society.
“This is a solemn and meaningful period that invites us to reflect on our lives, renew our faith, and strengthen our commitment to righteousness and service to humanity. It is also a time to lift our nation in prayer and seek God’s guidance for peace, stability, and progress.”

He called on Nigerians to offer prayers for harmony, economic recovery, and responsible leadership in Nigeria, expressing hope that the season would inspire renewed moral consciousness and collective responsibility.
“I encourage everyone to use this sacred period for sincere reflection, heartfelt repentance, and earnest prayers for our families, our communities, and our nation. Let us renew our commitment to compassion, justice, and peaceful coexistence, while seeking divine mercy and direction in all that we do.”
He also urged both Muslims and Christians to allow the values of fasting, prayer, sacrifice, and charity to shape their conduct beyond the season, noting that true spiritual renewal is reflected in daily actions and relationships with others. He wished adherents of both faiths a spiritually rewarding season marked by divine grace, renewed strength, and answered prayers.
