Lent and Ramadan: Hon Ikumogunniyi Asukuna Calls for Collective Prayers for Stability and Prosperity

Hon. Ikumogunniyi Biodun Asukuna, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and 2027 House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan South West and Ibadan North West Federal Constituency, has congratulated Christians and Muslims in his Federal Constituency and beyond as they observe the sacred seasons of Ramadan and Lent.

In a goodwill message, the aspirant described the overlapping spiritual observances as a profound moment of reflection, renewal, and collective responsibility for individuals and communities. He urged adherents of both faiths to use the solemn periods to pray for peace, prosperity, and responsible leadership at all levels of society.


According to him, seasons of devotion provide an opportunity not only for personal spiritual growth but also for renewed commitment to the wellbeing of the nation and the strengthening of shared values that bind communities together.

“These sacred periods remind us of the importance of sacrifice, discipline, compassion, and unity,l As Muslims observe Ramadan and Christians undertake the Lenten journey, I encourage all faithful to lift our communities, our leaders, and our nation in sincere prayer, asking for wisdom, justice, and progress in all spheres of life.”

He emphasized that collective prayers and genuine devotion remain vital to building a stable and progressive society, noting that spiritual reflection often inspires moral responsibility, peaceful coexistence, and renewed dedication to the common good.

The APC chieftain further called on residents of Oyo State and Nigerians across the Nigeria to embrace unity across religious, social, and political differences, stressing that national development is best achieved through mutual respect, shared purpose, and collective effort.

He concluded by wishing Christians and Muslims a spiritually fulfilling season, praying that their supplications and acts of devotion would bring lasting peace, progress, and harmony to their communities and the nation at large.
