Ramadan and Lent: Arisekola Alao Encourages Faithful to Pray for National Stability and Progress
Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao, Oloore 1 of Ibadan North Federal Constituency, has extended warm greetings to Muslims and Christians within the constituency and across Nigeria as they observe the sacred seasons of Ramadan and Lent.

In a message released to mark the commencement of the two spiritual periods, Arisekola Alao urged adherents of both faiths to embrace the essence of devotion, reflection, and self-discipline that define the seasons, noting that the nation stands in need of sincere prayers and moral renewal.

“These are sacred moments that call for deep reflection, compassion, and renewed commitment to the values that strengthen our society. I encourage Muslims and Christians alike to use this period to pray earnestly for peace, prosperity, and responsible leadership at all levels of governance.”
He noted that beyond personal devotion, the seasons offer an opportunity for collective intercession for the stability and progress of the nation, stressing that faith communities play a vital role in nurturing unity, tolerance, and shared responsibility.

“Our country continues to depend not only on policies and institutions but also on the strength of our collective prayers and sincere devotion. When people of faith seek the good of the nation with genuine hearts, they help lay the foundation for a more stable and progressive society.”
The former Commissioner for Youth and Sports further encouraged residents to extend kindness to the vulnerable, promote harmony across religious lines, and uphold values that foster peaceful coexistence within communities.
