‎Ramadan and Lent: Hon Abolaji Abayomi Urges Spiritual Reflection and Charity

Hon Abolaji Abayomi, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan North and an aspirant for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ibadan North Constituency II, has congratulated Muslims and Christians within the constituency and beyond on the observance of Ramadan and the Lenten season.

In a goodwill message issued to mark the sacred periods, Hon Abolaji Abayomi described the concurrent observance as a unique time for deep spiritual reflection, moral renewal, and compassion for others. He noted that both seasons call believers to discipline, sacrifice, and sincere devotion to God, while also placing strong emphasis on charity and service to humanity.

‎He urged residents to demonstrate the true spirit of the seasons through practical acts of kindness, including supporting vulnerable members of society through donations, food drives, and initiatives that promote social welfare. According to him, such efforts reflect the principles of almsgiving in Ramadan and charitable giving in Lent, which encourage believers to extend care and relief to those in need.

Hon ‎Abayomi also encouraged community leaders, faith-based organisations, and public office holders to promote policies and programmes that address poverty and social inequality, stressing that collective responsibility remains vital in building a more caring and inclusive society.

He expressed hope that the prayers and sacrifices offered during the holy periods would bring peace, stability, and renewed commitment to unity across the constituency and the wider Oyo State as he wished all Muslims and Christians a spiritually fulfilling season, urging them to continue fostering harmony, generosity, and mutual respect in their daily lives.
