Barr Akeem Agbaje Applauds APC National Convention, Congratulates Yilwatda, Basiru, Others on Emergence as APC National Executives
Barr. Akeem Adedeji Agbaje, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and 2027 gubernatorial aspirant, has extended warm congratulations to the newly emerged National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; the National Secretary, Dr. Surajudeen Basiru; and other members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) following the party’s national convention.

In a statement, Barr Agbaje also congratulated all members of the newly constituted National Executive Committee, describing their emergence as a reflection of the party’s commitment to internal democracy, unity, and institutional continuity.


Barr Akeem Agbaje commended the conduct of the convention, noting that it demonstrated maturity, cohesion, and a shared determination among party stakeholders to strengthen the APC ahead of future electoral engagements.
“The emergence of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as National Chairman and Dr. Surajudeen Basiru as National Secretary signals a renewed phase of purposeful leadership within our great party. Their experience, capacity, and commitment to the ideals of the APC will further consolidate the party’s structures and deepen engagement across all levels.”

He described the emergence of Dr. Surajudeen Basiru as particularly significant for Oyo State and the South-West region, noting that it reflects the confidence reposed in him by the party’s leadership and stakeholders nationwide.
“Dr. Surajudeen Basiru’s emergence is a moment of pride for Oyo State. His administrative depth, consistency, and loyalty to the progressive cause have earned him this responsibility, and I am confident he will make meaningful contributions to the party’s growth at the national level.”
He urged party members across the country to support the new leadership, stressing that unity and collective responsibility remain essential to sustaining the APC’s strength and electoral success.
“The responsibility before the new leadership requires the cooperation of all stakeholders. With unity, discipline, and commitment, the APC will continue to strengthen its position and deliver on its promises to Nigerians.”
He expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated leadership would build on the party’s existing foundation and work towards ensuring continued success for the APC in the years ahead, particularly as preparations gradually build towards the 2027 general elections.
