The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao, has continued his community-focused interventions with the donation of solar-powered street lights and a television set to students residing at Alexander Brown Hall, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, while also completing a borehole project at Adewunmi Street, Agbowo.

‎The intervention, according to Farouk Arisekola, was aimed at responding to practical needs within the student community and improving the living environment of residents.

‎The donation of the solar-powered street lights is expected to improve visibility around the students’ residential environment at night, while the television set is intended to provide students with access to information, news and entertainment within the hall.

The development comes alongside the completion and commissioning for use of a borehole at Adewunmi Street, Agbowo, providing residents with improved access to potable water.

Speaking on the interventions, Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao said his approach is driven by the need to listen to communities, identify their immediate challenges and respond with practical solutions that directly affect people’s daily lives.

“Leadership is about the people and their needs. When we listen to our communities, we understand that sometimes what matters most is not complicated. It could be access to clean water, adequate lighting, support for young people or other interventions that directly improve daily life. My commitment is to remain close to the people and ensure that their concerns receive the attention they deserve.”

He added that his aspiration to represent Ibadan North in the House of Representatives is anchored on the conviction that effective representation should remain connected to the everyday realities of constituents, assuring residents that he would continue to engage communities and identify areas where practical interventions can make a difference.
