‎CHILDREN’S DAY: Asukuna Celebrates Children’s Day, Calls for Stronger Child Protection Frameworks

Hon. Ikumogunniyi Biodun Asukuna, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and 2027 House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan North West and Ibadan South West Federal Constituency, has joined Nigerians in celebrating Children’s Day, while calling for stronger protection of the nation’s children and urgent action to secure their future.

‎In his message, Hon. Asukuna described children as the future of the constituency, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large, stressing the need for sustained investment in policies and legislative frameworks that guarantee their safety, education, and overall wellbeing.

He called for the creation of an enabling environment that nurtures future leaders, urging both the Federal and State Governments to synergize efforts and intensify action toward strengthening child protection systems and ensuring that no child is left vulnerable to insecurity or neglect.

‎While celebrating the occasion, he expressed deep concern over the reported abduction involving children and parents in the Ahoro–Esinle axis, urging security agencies and relevant authorities to intensify rescue operations to ensure their safe return.

“Even as we celebrate our children today, our thoughts remain with families affected by this tragic situation. We call on government at all levels to act swiftly and decisively to secure the safe rescue of the abducted children and their parents.”

The APC chieftain further appealed for improved collaboration between security agencies, community leaders, and government institutions to prevent future occurrences and strengthen safety mechanisms across communities.
