Ibadan North 2027: Arisekola Alao Advocates Job Centres for Easy Access to Federal Government Employment
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao, has advocated the establishment of Job Centres across the country to provide graduates with easier and more transparent access to federal government employment opportunities.
Umar Farouk made the proposal while featuring as a guest on the popular radio programme “Oselenkejo”, hosted by veteran broadcaster, Alhaji Kola Olootu, on Lagelu 96.7 FM, where he spoke about his aspiration and plans for the people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
He explained that the proposed Job Centres would serve as accessible platforms where graduates could obtain information about available federal government employment opportunities, submit applications and participate in recruitment processes without having to rely on personal connections or political intermediaries.
According to him, the idea is to create a system that gives children of ordinary Nigerians a fair opportunity to access government employment, in the same spirit of accessibility associated with initiatives such as NELFUND.
“The idea behind Job Centres is to create access. A graduate should be able to walk into a centre, get information about available federal government jobs, apply and have a fair opportunity without having to know a politician, an appointee or somebody in government.”
Umar Farouk said such centres would help reduce the dependence of young people on politicians and government officials for employment opportunities, while promoting transparency, equal access and merit in public recruitment. He added that his vision for Ibadan North is centred on identifying practical solutions to the challenges confronting young people and other residents of the constituency.
He reiterated his commitment to pursuing policies and initiatives that expand opportunities for youths and graduates, stressing that representation should give people not only a voice in government but also greater access to opportunities that can improve their lives.
