WORKERS’ DAY; Hon Ikumogunniyi Asukuna Salutes Nigerian Workers, Describes Labour as Engine of National Development
Hon. Ikumogunniyi Biodun Asukuna, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and 2027 House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan South West and Ibadan North West Federal Constituency, has paid tribute to Nigerian workers, commending their steadfast industry and enduring commitment to national development.

In a statement marking the significance of workers’ contributions, Hon. Asukuna described labour as the unseen engine that keeps the machinery of national advancement in measured and purposeful motion, noting that the resilience and dedication of workers remain central to the progress of Nigeria.

He acknowledged the indispensable role played by employees across both the public and private sectors, urging them to remain resolute in their pursuit of excellence and professionalism in their respective fields.
“Nigerian workers continue to demonstrate remarkable commitment in the face of challenges, and their collective discipline remains vital to achieving sustainable growth and prosperity for our nation,” he said. “Our workforce is the backbone of development, and their contributions deserve recognition and continuous support.”

Hon. Asukuna further emphasized that national aspirations can only be realised when the workforce remains focused, productive, and aligned with the broader goals of economic transformation and social stability.
While commending recent efforts by Bola Ahmed Tinubu to improve the welfare of workers through salary adjustments and other policies, he noted that such initiatives provide renewed hope and a stronger foundation for improved productivity and national output.
He urged workers to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government by embracing best practices, diligence, and efficiency in their duties, stressing that increased productivity and accountability will further strengthen the nation’s development trajectory.
