AWA Confident as Oyo Central APC Senatorial Result Remains Pending
Dr. Ademola Wasiu Alli (AWA), aspirant for the Oyo Central Senatorial District seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed confidence in the official outcome of the party’s primary election following his decision to formally challenge alleged irregularities that trailed the exercise conducted across the district.

This is coming as the official list of senatorial candidates released across several states yesterday, did not include Oyo Central Senatorial District among the concluded results officially recognised by the party.

Political observers and party stakeholders have since linked the omission to the growing controversies surrounding the conduct of the primary election in the district, particularly allegations of irregularities, disenfranchisement, and concerns raised by party members over the credibility of the process.
Dr. Alli, who has consistently maintained strong grassroots support across Oyo Central, was said to have officially activated the party’s internal appeal mechanism, insisting that the concerns raised by his supporters and stakeholders deserved proper attention in the interest of fairness, justice, and party integrity.

The omission of Oyo Central from the list released by the APC National Secretariat has further strengthened optimism within the AWA camp that the issues surrounding the exercise are receiving necessary consideration at the national level, argued that the pending status of the district’s result reflects the need for a careful review of the process, especially given the widespread reactions that followed the primary election across several wards and local governments.
Despite the developments, Dr. Ademola Wasiu Alli has continued to urge his supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and hopeful, stressing that the struggle for credible, inclusive, and people-oriented representation in Oyo Central remains alive.
According to close associates of the aspirant, AWA remains confident that the official position of the party would ultimately reflect fairness and the genuine aspirations of party faithful across the senatorial district.
Many stakeholders within the district have also continued to describe Dr. Alli as one of the most widely accepted aspirants in the race, citing his accessibility, respect for party leadership, grassroots engagement, and commitment to effective representation as major factors behind his growing popularity.
