‎6th Year Remembrance: Seeds of Sen Abiola Ajimobi’s Leadership Still Yielding Progress in Oyo State — Arisekola Alao

Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao, APC candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency and former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, has joined family members, political associates, and the people of Oyo State in commemorating the 6th year anniversary remembrance of the late Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, describing him as a father, mentor, and statesman whose legacy continues to shape governance and political leadership in the state.

In a statement issued to mark the occasion, Arisekola Alao said the seeds planted by the late governor continue to yield progress in different spheres of public life, noting that his vision for a more structured, disciplined, and developed Oyo State remains a reference point in contemporary governance.


‎He stated that the late governor’s contributions to infrastructural development, political stability, and institutional reforms have left an enduring imprint on the state, adding that his leadership style continues to inspire a new generation of public servants and political actors.

“As we remember our father, leader, and mentor, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, we are reminded of his courage, discipline, and commitment to building a better Oyo State. His legacy remains alive through the progress we continue to witness, and we are further encouraged to recommit ourselves to building the Oyo of his dreams.”

Arisekola Alao also expressed deep appreciation to the matriarch of the Ajimobi dynasty, Her Excellency, Chief (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi, for her unwavering commitment to preserving the legacy of the late governor and ensuring that his memory and contributions to democratic governance are never forgotten.

He described her role as a stabilising and unifying force within the family and political circle, noting that her dedication continues to reinforce the values and ideals the late governor stood for.

He concluded by praying for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late governor and reaffirmed commitment to sustaining the ideals he represented in the pursuit of a more prosperous Oyo State.
