Adelabu Family Abduction: Arisekola Alao Condemns Abduction, Demands Swift Rescue
Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao, APC candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency and former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, has strongly condemned the abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.

In a statement made available to the media, Arisekola Alao described the incident as disturbing, unfortunate, and a painful reminder of the security challenges confronting citizens across the country.

He expressed deep concern over the abduction of a mother and her children, noting that such acts not only inflict emotional trauma on families but also threaten public confidence and the sense of safety within communities.
“I received the news of the abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons with profound concern. This unfortunate incident is condemnable and has no place in a civilised society. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and the entire family during this difficult period.”

Arisekola Alao called on security agencies to intensify ongoing efforts to secure the safe and unconditional release of the victims while ensuring that those responsible are apprehended and brought to justice.
The former Commissioner further stressed the urgent need for stronger security architecture, improved surveillance systems, and proactive intelligence gathering to safeguard lives and property across Oyo State.
According to him, effective collaboration among security agencies, local communities, and relevant stakeholders remains essential in addressing emerging security threats and preventing similar occurrences.
“This incident underscores the need for continuous investment in intelligence gathering, community policing initiatives, and security coordination. The protection of lives and property must remain a top priority for all concerned authorities.”
